Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches other platforms. They have suggested members to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually when needed, resulting in member annoyance. Measurement Approach Updates Previously, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Shopper Stories One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she stated. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she stated. Service Background The app has more than 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: last year, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
