Tehran is prepared to restart nuclear talks with the United States as long as it is handled with "dignity" and "honor", Tehran's top diplomat has announced.

Abbas Araghchi said only diplomacy worked, and revealed fresh requests had been made by mediators to resume talks with the American leadership. He asserted Iran possessed no undeclared nuclear sites, and Tehran had not yet reached a point to authorize the International Atomic Energy Agency to inspect bombed nuclear sites for security reasons.

Navigating a Complex Route

Araghchi is walking a challenging path since Iran wishes not to be seen to be operating from a position of vulnerability, and he insisted repeatedly that Iran had arisen stronger militarily and emotionally from the coordinated strike on its atomic facilities in June.

He was speaking at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he reaffirmed that Iran had "an absolute privilege to enrich uranium on home soil that it will perpetually retain" – the primary cause of the impasse in the previous talks.

Prior Negotiations Abruptly Concluded

The previous five rounds of discussions between the United States and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and acrimonious end on 12 June when Israel, with American backing, attacked Tehran's atomic facilities in a two-week conflict that culminated with the US president declaring the sites had been eliminated. Afterward, EU nations employed their authority to reinstate international penalties, but Iran maintains they have not had a major impact.

Iranian officials claimed they felt they had achieved a "ideal resolution" to the enrichment issue in prior discussions, when it was settled an domestic cooperative with Washington's engagement could process nuclear material. Recovery and Rebuilding

In what is portrayed by Iranian officials as the struggle of restoration and rebuilding, the foreign minister said he was assured Iran's security strengths "have significantly improved than before 13 or 14 June of this year. Every aspect of our defense have been rebuilt. We acquired multiple understandings from this war; we have identified our own weaknesses and the vulnerabilities of the opponent."

He stated: "We successfully passed this engagement. Our atomic expertise, which they aimed to obliterate, continues to exist. The sites and equipment, if eliminated, will be restored; what is crucial is the determination of the citizens of Tehran and then the unity of the country that they sought to undermine, but failed to break. The Iranian people have developed more resilient, more united, and more supportive of the leadership and the state in the wake of this assault."
