One two-month journey through the Australian Coast is being halted days after the tragic passing of an older woman who was left behind by the cruise liner on a remote coastal location.

The passenger had been hiking on the remote island with shipmates from the cruise ship, but parted ways from the excursion for a pause. The vessel sailed away leaving her and came back later that day after the crew discovered the woman was unaccounted for.

A major hunt found her person the following day.

Investigative bodies are investigating the event, together with law enforcement and the official investigator.

Chief Executive of the cruise operator stated that guests and personnel on the vessel were told that the continuation of the journey had been called off due to the "unfortunate death and previous mechanical issues".

Through an announcement, he added that guests would be given a total repayment, and said the organization was working "to arrange the travel back of the individuals via private aircraft".

Officials also issued an latest communication, and said they had "provided a order to the Commander" prohibiting any additional guests from getting on the liner.
