19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first championship for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has had a difficult year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and finally separating with former coach his previous coach.

Now working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first title following the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from that period of 2023.

Success also means he has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one different events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my two daughters at once, so to secure a title is particularly special," said tennis professional the champion.

"This championship is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his past six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.

His retrieving strategy and regular emotional displays on court had caused observers to question if his capacity to compete at the elite level was over.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and play aggressively, supported by an better serving game.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players traded breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to push for a third set.

Moutet saved four early chances in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to 15 to serve for the match.

Fittingly, the winner clinched the title with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
